Design Prompt
The COVID-19 pandemic is new territory that many people have not yet experienced. As a design student, I wanted to think of a way that can help people.
Palm is a new way of designing temporary hospital tents, as the environment given at the moment is not ideal. Partnering up with Harry and Sabrina Bae, the most amazing siblings and the talented Danny Vo, we designed a new ecosystem ideal for patients and doctors.
Contagious! is a simulation-based game that provides the young public (ages 14-25) with a clear and tangible understanding of a pandemic, teaching them to navigate similar real-life scenarios. I was involved in an amazing group of SCAD UX design students, Eli Clein, Dallin Higgins, Esther Holiday, Seungpil Lee, Maria Ruiz, and our professor, Sung Park.
Palm
Impacts & Outcomes
Palm is a hospital tent best for both hospital workers and patients. It prevents group infections, by creating efficient ways to eliminate unnecessary contact with doctors and patients. It comes with a handy way of tracking patients and a divider that is easy to attach.
My Role
In this project, I was responsible for planning, overseeing, implementing, and executing the project. Conducting primary and secondary research, along with designing the space and branding.

Impacts & Outcomes
Players experience different walks of life through their characters. Each character has specific traits that define their stories. Experiencing scenarios, both good and bad, through these unique characters brings to light some of the confusing life changes people have had to make during this outbreak, enabling greater empathy for the people around us.
My Role
In this project, I focused on primary and secondary research. Interviewing people, making surveys, industry and customer analysis.

Key Takeaways
Within a week, I was privileged enough to work with two amazing team for a good cause. Not only did I learn so much from my other team members, but I gained knowledge about the COVID- 19 from multiple viewpoints. It motivated me to create design with empathy both shown in the spatial design and the mobile game. This was a great learning experience collaborating with people from interior design, computer science, and my fellow UX major students 🙌
